About Zoko (YC W21)
Zoko empowers SMEs to reach customers and do business with them via WhatsApp. Businesses of all sizes—from startups to large enterprises—use Zoko’s software and APIs for marketing, sales, and customer support.
My Role
I lead the end-to-end design and research, wireframing, visual design, and prototyping. I worked closely with the engineering team to ensure design quality standards. I collaborated with the Product Manager and stakeholders across the company to identify user needs and business vision.
Problem
Design a marketplace platform where SME's can sell and track payments for consumers through WhatsApp communication.
Research
Our process started with research Which is to identify the users. Identifying their needs and expectation refined the foundation of our research phase. Below the following methods used for research.



User Persona
Created user person based on the research insights derived from user surveys, desk research and in-depth interviews.

Wireframe
Wireframes have helped us iterate faster and come up with solutions.
Visual Design
We have done desk research along with user testing to understand the visual aesthetics. The color palette, typeface, and iconography to go for have been validated by the users.
